American Express Lifestyle Rewards
Terms and Conditions

1.1.1. All persons (“Participants”) entering American Express Lifestyle Rewards platform (“Promotion”) agree that the Promotion rules, as set out in these terms and conditions (“ Terms and Conditions”), shall apply and are binding on them.

1.1.2. TLC Marketing Worldwide (Pty) Ltd (“TLC”) and Nedbank (South Africa) (Pty) Limited are collectively referred to as the “Promoters” in respect of the Promotion for purposes of these Terms and Conditions.

1.1.3. This Promotion commences on 1 May 2020 and ends on 30 April 2021, subject always to any early termination or extension thereof by the Promoters as contemplated in these Terms and Conditions.

1.2. Nature of the Rewards

1.2.1. These terms and conditions cover the rewards that we source for you from our partners. The promoter of these rewards is TLC Marketing Worldwide a Proprietary Limited (Registration Number 2010/011691/07), a private company duly incorporated in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa with its registered address at 1st Floor, Block F; 150 Linden Road, Strathavon, Sandton, 2196(“TLC”).

1.2.2. By accessing these rewards , you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and you consent to us sharing your personal data with: affiliates (means, in relation to TLC Marketing Worldwide, any entity Controlling, Controlled by or under common Control with TLC Marketing Worldwide from time to time) and suppliers for purposes of this reward. These terms and conditions apply in addition to the terms and conditions applicable to your Nedbank Amex account. If there is a conflict between the terms and conditions applicable to the account or service and these terms and conditions, these terms and conditions will apply.

1.3 Qualifying criteria

1.3.1 A participant ('Participant') must:

1.3.1.1 be 18 years or older;

1.3.1.2 be a South African citizen;

1.3.1.3 have a valid identity number;

1.3.1.4 Be a qualifying member of the American Express Lifestyle Rewards.

1.3.1.5 Be in position of one of the following Qualifying card

1.3.2 American Express Gold Charge card;Participants must have spent R3 500 or more in the previous month on their banking card specified above to qualify for the lifestyle voucher;

2.1 How to redeem your Nedbank AMEX Rewards:

  • Customers who qualify receive an SMS containing a unique code and link to the Redemption Microsite.
  • The Customer will be required to complete the steps on the Microsite in order to redeem their selected reward.
  • Customers must enter the unique code, Name and Surname as well as mobile number.
  • Select the desired reward
  • Once selection has been made customer will receive an SMS with instructions on how to use their reward.

2.2 Rewards Descriptions and conditions

  • Only original, authentic and valid reward codes will be accepted.
  • Expired, counterfeit, or incomplete unique or reward code will not be accepted.

2.3 R100 Makro Electronic Gift Card

a) Makro reserves the right to update and change the terms and conditions of Gift Cards at any time. Gift Cards can only be redeemed while they are valid and their expiry dates cannot be extended. All our usual Terms and Conditions and policies apply to Gift Cards.

b) When you receive a Gift Card, you agree to these terms and conditions. It is important to read and understand them before you use your electronic Gift Card:

c) Valid for one (1) month from the date of issue

d) Gift Cards can be redeemed in-store only, at all Makro stores.

e) Electronic Gift Cards must be presented in conjunction with a Makro access card.

f) Makro Gift Cards cannot be exchanged for cash or credit notes and cannot be returned.

g) For purchases made using the Makro Gift Cards, please follow our Returns Policy.

h) Should you not utilise the full value of your Gift Card on your first purchase, a credit will remain on the card for future use.

i) Should the card be lost or stolen and it is used then neither Makro, nor its agents will be liable for any reimbursement of any nature.

j) Vouchers are only valid for the purchase of items that are permitted under current Government regulations.

k) Good are subject to availability and maximum buying restrictions per customer as displayed in store.

2.4 R100 Uber Voucher

2.4.1 How it works - New User

a. Download the free application in the app store or at uber.com/app

b. Once the app has been downloaded and registration complete, click on Menu

c. Tap on Payment and scroll down to Promotions

d. Tap on 'Add Promo/Gift Code' and enter the code XXX

e. When ready request a ride and get up to R50 off

f. Valid for 2 months from receipt

2.4.2 How it works - Existing User

a. Open the Uber app and click on Menu

b. Tap on Payment and scroll down to Promotions

c. Tap on 'Add Promo/Gift Code' and enter the code XXX

2.5 R100 Airtime Voucher

Should a Participant select this offer, an SMS will be sent through with a unique code, to redeem dial the below USSD String and follow the prompts, Network T&C’s apply.

a. R100 Airtime through MTN, Cell C, Vodacom or Telkom

b. To redeem Airtime, dial *120*120120*01*voucher pin#

c. 20c per 20 sec per session.

d. Customer will receive an automatic SMS confirming airtime top up from their network.

2.6 R100 Edgars Gift Card Voucher

a) An electronic gift card is an SMS version of the existing gift card and the following additional terms apply:

b) If the full value of your Electronic Gift Card is not used on your first purchase, the balance will be transferred to a physical or online gift card, depending on the location of redemption.

c) The Electronic Gift Card cannot be topped up or SMS’d to someone else.

d) Should the Electronic Gift Card be deleted or the customer’s cell phone lost/stolen, Edcon will not be liable for any reimbursement of any nature. The SMS can be resent, but only to the original number.

e) The usage of the Electronic Gift Card is solely at the risk and discretion of the customer.

f) Edcon will not be held responsible for any cellular network service operator's delay in forwarding an Electronic Gift Card to you.

g) The Electronic Gift Card will only be accepted in store if a valid Electronic Gift Card number in SMS format is presented to the cashier. Alternatively it can also be used at Edgars Online.

h) Vouchers are only valid for the purchase of items that are permitted under current Government regulations.

i) Good are subject to availibity and maximum buying restrictions per customer as displayed in store.

2.7 Yogaia

b) Enter the code that you received to the 1st field and fill in the rest of the details to create the account.

c) Start your 30-day free trial by entering your payment card details.

d) Continue to the web site or download the app - the same account can be used across all platforms.

e) Start enjoying your unlimited access to live and on-demand yoga, workout and mindfulness classes! Further notes:

3. Restrictions

3.1 Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash in part or whole and is non-refundable, non-transferable and non-exchangeable and the Organisers reserve the right to substitute any prize with another prize of similar or equal value.

3.2 The Organisers do not guarantee any buy-back of any of the prizes given away in the Promotion

3.3 Only one unique code per Nedbank.

3.4 Rewards cannot be exchanged or swapped.

5. General terms

5.1 Without detracting in any way from the Promotion Rules, the following general provisions shall be applicable to these Rules.

5.2 The promoter/s of this Promotion are the Organisers. The Organisers will interpret the Rules in their sole discretion and reserve the right to amend the Rules at any time in accordance with the provisions contained in these Rules.

5.3 By entering and participating in the Promotion, you agree that the Organisers may collect and process your personal information for purposes of this Promotion.

5.4 The Organisers, their directors, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by them or any supplier of goods and services in connection with this Promotion and their spouses, life partners, parents, children, siblings, business partners or associates are not eligible to participate in or enter this Promotion.

5.5 IN THE EVENT OF A DISPUTE, THE DECISION OF THE ORGANISERS WILL BE FINAL AND BINDING AND NO CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE ENTERED INTO. IN THIS REGARD AND FOR FURTHER CLARITY, THE ORGANISERS SHALL BE ENTITLED TO DEAL WITH SUCH DISPUTES (OR ANY FAILURE BY ENTRANTS TO FOLLOW THE RULES) IN THEIR SOLE DISCRETION, INCLUDING THAT THE ORGANISERS SHALL BE ENTITLED, IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER RIGHTS WHICH THE ORGANISERS MAY HAVE IN TERMS OF THESE RULES, TO IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFY ENTRANTS FROM THIS PROMOTION. BY ENTERING THE PROMOTION AND/OR ACCEPTING ANY PRIZE, THE ENTRANTS, USERS AND/OR WINNERS HEREBY INDEMNIFY, RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS THE ORGANISERS (INCLUDING THEIR SUBSIDIARIES, HOLDING COMPANIES AND AFFILIATES), THEIR DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS AND CONTRACTORS (THE “ORGANISER PARTIES”) FROM AND AGAINST ANY ACTIONS, CLAIMS AND/OR LIABILITY FOR INJURY, LOSS, DAMAGE, EXPENSE, CLAIM OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND RESULTING IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE PROMOTION, AND/OR THE USE, ACCEPTANCE OR POSSESSION OF A PRIZE, AND/OR PARTICIPATION (OR NON-PARTICIPATION) IN A PRIZE-RELATED ACTIVITY.

5.6 Entrants who, in the Organisers’ sole determination, act unlawfully, fraudulently, in breach of these Rules or otherwise dishonestly may be disqualified from participating in the Promotion and shall not be eligible to win any prize.

5.7 TLC Marketing Worldwide is not responsible for any reward misrepresentation (written or verbal) on warranties by anyone / group other than TLC Marketing Worldwide

5.8 ADDITIONAL TO ANY OTHER RIGHTS CONTAINED IN THE COMPETITON RULES, THE ORGANISERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO TERMINATE THE PROMOTION AT ANY TIME WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. IF THIS IS THE CASE, THE ORGANISERS WILL PROVIDE A NOTICE ON THE WEBSITE AND IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ENTRANTS TO REVIEW SUCH WEBSITE IN THIS RESPECT. IN SUCH EVENT, ALL ENTRANTS HEREBY WAIVE ANY RIGHTS WHICH THEY MAY HAVE AGAINST ANY OF THE ORGANISER PARTIES AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY WILL HAVE NO RECOURSE OR CLAIM OF ANY NATURE AGAINST THE ORGANISER PARTIES.

5.9 THE ORGANISERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY TECHNICAL FAILURE THAT MAY RESULT IN AN ENTRY NOT BEING SUCCESSFULLY SUBMITTED. ANY PRIZE IS ACCEPTED BY A WINNER AT HIS/HER OWN RISK AND THE ORGANISERS ARE NOT LIABLE, AT ANY TIME, FOR ANY DEFECT IN THE PRIZE.

5.10 The duration of this Promotion may also be extended or curtailed at the sole discretion of the Organisers. If this is the case, the Organisers will provide notice of this on the Website.

6. EXCLUSIONS AND OTHER IMPORTANT TERMS

6.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to, or must be understood to, unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations, as the case may be, created for either the participant or the Promoter in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 ("CPA").

6.2 By entering the Programme in accordance with its terms, Participants acknowledge that the Programme will be managed in accordance with the provisions of the CPA. Qualifying participants undertake to expeditiously do all things necessary to enable the Promoters to comply with their obligations under the CPA including, but not limited to providing such personal information as may be required in order to facilitate handing over the reward

6.3 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
